Barry Dean Sanders

Mr. Barry Dean Sanders, age 77, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Mr. Sanders was born at home in Henry County, Kentucky on September 12, 1948 to the late Oral Lee Sanders and Juanita (Powell) Sanders. He was a proud member of Little Flock Baptist Church and served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he retired from General Electric. In his free time, he embraced the simple pleasures in life as a true “country boy”, he loved fishing and hunting. He was also a sharp poker player and loved his games with his best friend, Paul Petrowski. He was a loving and steady father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

In addition to his parents, his beloved wife, Brenda Sue Sanders and grandson, Hunter Ogle preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Shannon Christensen (Paul) and Stacie Sanders (Shawn); grandchildren, Bradley (Stephanie), Hannah (Dylan), Lauren and Chance; great-grandchildren, Emma, Wrenley and Arabella; sisters, Theresa “Terri” Curtis and Martha Carolyn Foster and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 17, 2025 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of his service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
