Bernard Brown

Mr. Bernard Brown, age 90, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Mr. Brown was born in Zambia, Africa on September 18, 1935 to the late William L. Brown and Addie Lamberth Brown. He was a devoted Patriot and a chemist with the US Department of the Navy. He was very involved in his community as the former Mayor of Fox Chase and served 3 terms of service with the Shepherdsville City Council. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bernard Ray Brown and 6 brothers and sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Debra Slack; children, Arleta Barton (Frank) and Jeffrey Brown; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 2 step-sons, Joseph Hammond and Brian Probus; sister, Betty Wetton and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 13, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday, July 12th from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of his service at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
