I had the privlege of working with Bill at Supplies Over Seas (SOS).  It was a joy to be with Bill everyday.  He had deep connections with all of the hospitals that collected our supplies.  He also made a deep friendship with my brother Dugan Mershon.  They talked sports endlessly.  Bill was beloved by all of the SOS Volunteers and kept in touch with them long after he left SOS.  As for me, every time that Bill had a conversation with me it was intentional and meaningful.  He was full of great ideas on how to improve SOS operations.  Mary Lidtke and I met Bill for lunch long after we left SOS and each gathering was joyful.  What a great guy.  He will be missed.  Sending hugs and prayers to his mother, wife, kids and siblings.

I was very sorry to hear of Billy’s passing today. I know that GOD will be with you as you heal. I remember him as a quiet man with a beautiful smile, but once he felt comfortable with you, look out. He was funny and friendly and someone people liked. Unfortunately, moving around a lot over the years, I didn’t get many opportunities to spend time with him as we got older. My heart goes out to family and friends as you get through this loss. 

My heartfelt condolences to the Roof family.  There are so many wonderful memories of Billy throughout the years.  He certainly was a funny guy and will be missed by many.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing, I had last talked to him three weeks ago to let him know our friend Bill Mitchell had passed away. The two of them spent a lot of time with us " solving world problems" in the office of A1 Built Sheds in Mt Washington. He will be missed.

I’m so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing, I worked with him at B&B pharmacy where he was our delivery driver and friend. Customers and employees alike loved Bill.  He was always wearing a smile and had something nice to say.  He would remember everyone’s names and make connections with all he met- checking in on kids or asking about past or future sports events.   Bill could always make us laugh and was quick witted with his commentary.  Whether he was stopping by just to say hello or sharing a funny story, he had a way of making everyone feel like part of the conversation. His gregarious spirit and lighthearted humor will be deeply missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.  

Billy was a very kind and generous man.  When I was around 16, 17 he took me to a University of Louisville basketball game at Freedom Hall, I remember it like it was yesterday.  Billy loved basketball, I would see him year after year at Fairdale High School watching the King of the Bluegrass high school basketball tournament.  I would see him going to get his seat on the bleachers and I would immediately go over to sit with him.  He was a joy to talk about basketball with and amongst other things.  He will be dearly missed.  Rest in peace Billy you’re in a great place now.

You will be greatly missed by your family and friends. You can rest now with no pain, perfect vision, and with a new body, living your best life with Dad. I know he was there welcoming you into the kingdom. You will always be in my heart and thoughts. Rest high on the mountain. Be our guardian angel. Love you, Sis❤️

Billy was my cousin..He was like everyones big brother, kind, quiet, and funny.. I remember washing dishes at Aunt Helens house , Billy would come in and say, ; You better get something to eat before it is all gone; My deepest condolences to my Aunt Helen, Billy's wife Susan, Ben and Bryan, and all my cousins, Billy's brothers and sisters  I grew up with. I want to send a big hug..Will miss him.
