Brett Matthew Taylor

   Brett Matthew Taylor, age 39 of Okolona, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born on April 14, 1984, in Louisville, Kentucky to Debbie and Tom Taylor. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served as a helicopter mechanic. Brett was a private person but always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing with his grandfathers. He was a San Francisco 49ers fan during the “Steve Young/Jerry Rice” era. The true loves of Brett’s life were his children; he was so very proud of them. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard and Carolyn Fentress and Kenneth Taylor.

   In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory his children, Annah Colon, Elijah and Aliyah Taylor; siblings, Tommy Taylor, Megan Taylor and Adam Taylor (Cindy); grandmother, Dolly Taylor and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. 

   Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 2 pm in the chapel at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy. in Shepherdsville). A private burial will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at a later date. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10 am until time of service at 2 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home.
