

Brian Burdan Kulp of Louisville passed away on January 20, 2024. Mr. Kulp was born in 1950 in Pottstown, PA. He was a graduate of Pottstown High School where he played in the marching band. He was a graduate of Millersville State College and Eastern Kentucky State University. Mr. Kulp was a 31-year employee of Jefferson County Public Schools and spent the majority of his career as a beloved Social Studies/ History teacher at Butler Traditional High School. Mr. Kulp served in the army reserve and was a member of the Fairdale Masonic Lodge and St. Matthews/PRP Lodge. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Kosair Shrine and belonged to the Fairdale Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of Mt. Holly Methodist Church. In his retirement Mr. Kulp enjoyed spending six months of the year in his home in central Florida where he enjoyed rounds of golf, visits to Disney, and going on cruises.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl Dennis Kulp and Veronica “Winnes” Kulp, and sister Genie Clayton.
Brian is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon Henry Kulp, son Bill Allen (Amanda), grandson Lane Gillenwater, brother E. Dennis Kulp, brother-in-law Bob Clayton, sister-in-law Darlene (Henry) Goble, four nieces, and one nephew. He is also survived by an extended family of great nieces, great nephews, coworkers, and dear friends who loved him. Expressions of sympathy may be made to WHAS Crusade for children, or Eastern Star Home of Kentucky. Services will be held at Schoppenhorst, Underwood, and Brooks Funeral home on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 12:00 noon. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 4:00 p. m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service
