Carol J Pruitt

Ms. Carol June Pruitt, age 80, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, December 22, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Plant City, Florida on February 17, 1945, to the late Alto Criss Bowdoin, Sr., and Josephine Cecilia (Kohanski) Bowdoin. Carol retired from the Bullitt County Board of Education after working in the cafeteria for many years at Overdale Elementary School. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Alto Bowdoin, Jr., sister Terri Acevedo.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Connie Singleton (Charlie), sons Criss Pruitt (Teresa), Glenn Pruitt (Jana), grandchildren Criss Pruitt Jr., Nathan Pruitt, Logan Pruitt (Alexis), Olivia Scrogham (Andrew), Brandon Singleton, Emily Pruitt, Jonathan Pruitt, great-grandchildren, Carly, Naomi, Elijah, Owen, Wyatt, Amelia, great-great-grandchildren Blakeleigh and Baylor, special friends Darlene Peppers, and Paula Donahue, along with a host of other dear family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway). Her visitation will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
