Carol Sue Smith

Mrs. Carol Sue Smith, age 82, of Brooks, returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 1, 2026. Mrs. Smith was born in Louisville, KY on May 12, 1944 to the late Carrol Davis and Gladys McGuffin Meador.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who loved her family deeply. She worked hard throughout her life and found her greatest joy in caring for and supporting those she loved. Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she was a faithful member of True Holiness House of Prayer. She especially enjoyed serving as a Sunday school teacher, sharing her love, faith, and encouragement with others. She will be remembered for her caring heart, strong faith, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Ricky Bohr; sister, Bonnie Lou Richardson and her brothers, John McGuffin and Craig Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Wayne Allen Smith; children, Suzanne Bohr and Lynn Smith; sister, Dawn Marie Davis; grandchildren, Jennifer Benningfield, Jessica Benningfield, Stephanie Bohr and Heather Britton (Bobby); 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other dear family and friends.

Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) has been entrusted with arrangements. A memorial service and celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date.
