

Charles “Charlie” H. Hall, Sr., 78, of Santa Cruz, CA passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Originally from Louisville, KY, Charlie was a proud veteran of the US Army and member of the American Legion. Charlie moved to California in 1980 where he eventually resumed a banking career that began at Citizens Fidelity Bank & Trust in Louisville. Charlie served as a Vice President for both Bank of America and Barclays Bank before moving to VISA USA where he retired in 1995 and started his own financial consulting business, Charlie Hall & Associates.
Charlie was an avid bowler and professional horseshoe champion where he participated in the USA Senior Nationals. Charlie demonstrated his belief in service to others as a very active member in the Louisville Jaycees, an elected member of the El Granada Sanitation Board and a volunteer at the San Francisco Zoo. Charlie’s love of his home state ran deep, always a proud connoisseur of Kentucky Bourbon, he served as a Maker’s Mark Ambassador and was a proud member of the Honorable Order of KY Colonels.
Charlie had many fond memories and loved to tell stories of his time spent on his grandparents’ farm just outside of Taylorsville, KY.
Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Lorena ‘Scrogham’ Hall; his father, John M Hall; his brother Dr. Amos G Hall and his sisters Barbara Hall and Betty Riddle.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vita Hall; daughter, Donna Paulin (Tony); his son, Charles ‘Charlie’ H Hall, Jr. (Tina). He also leaves behind 6 beloved grandchildren to cherish his memory: Justin Paulin (Lauren), Ryan Paulin, Emily Hall, Lauren Paulin, Shelby Hall and Sam Hall and a new great grandbaby Cecile ‘CeCe’ Paulin.
A Memorial Service will be at the Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, 123 Winning Colors Dr., Mt. Washington, KY 40047 at 11:00am on Saturday, August 20,2022 with burial to follow at Big Springs Cemetery in Bloomfield, KY. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, August 20,2022 from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home.
