Charles D Heatherly Sr.

Mr. Charles David Heatherly, Sr., age 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with his family by his side. Charles was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Lyman Heatherly and Onie (Underwood) Heatherly. He was a retired truck driver for many years. He was the owner and operator of his own truck and the last job he held he worked for Expressway Incorporated. He was a member of Parkland Baptist Church, the Moose Lodge # 5 where he held the position of Governor and Pilgrim for several years, he was a very dedicated and loyal member. Charles was an avid golfer and bowler in his earlier years he traveled some with his family. Charles will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Frances (Fowler) Heatherly, brothers Ronald and Cleo Heatherly, and sister Doris Leach.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sons Charles (David) Heatherly, Jr., Richard Heatherly, 4 grandchildren Dalton Heatherly, James Heatherly, Katie Heatherly, Kyle Heatherly, along with a host of other dear family and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway). A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at the funeral home. You can visit from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers Charles asked that donations be made to Crusade for Children.
