Charles M. Phelps, Sr.

Mr. Charles M. Phelps, Sr., age 90, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Mr. Phelps was born in Morgantown, KY on March 22, 1929 to the late John and Bonnie Phelps. He was a member of Canton Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran. He retired from the Bullitt County Board of Education.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 66 years, Marcella Phelps; children, Charles Phelps, Jr. (Tina), Keith Phelps (Jackie) and Richard Phelps (Sue); grandchildren, Angela, Josh, Ashley, Zachary, Natalie, Johanna and Ben; great-grandchildren, Jack, Kate, Ryan, Seeley, Alma and Eirene ; sisters, Linda Sidebottom and Janet Rutherford and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
