David "Dave" Matthew Jones

David “Dave” Matthew Jones, age 39, of Fairdale, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 7, 2019. Dave was born in Louisville, KY on July 22, 1979. He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish (Former St. Jerome) and he loved being a hairdresser. He was full of light and life and showed that in his love for animals, for the lake and ocean, the sun, red corvettes, music, picnics (especially St. Jerome’s), Cardinal birds, blue jean shorts, smiling, “pop” and Lay’s potato chips and EXTRA salt.

Dave felt a connection to God and believed in His plan. His deep spirituality helped him love himself, have a big heart for others and the simple parts of life.

Among those who preceding him in death are, his paternal grandmother, Juanita Jones; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Murray; maternal great- grandfather, William Jarvis and his great- grandmother, “Grandma Ruth”.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Robin Jones (Bo); father, Dale Jones (Lisa); sister, Elizabeth Jones (Charlie); paternal grandfather, Bill Jones; his dear friends, Ashley, Rachel, Terri, Deanna, Natalie, Jennifer and Tara; a host of other friends and all of his babies who he loved very much; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 13, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
