David Barry Lutz

Mr. David Barry Lutz, age 81, of Louisville passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital with his family by his side. David was born on September 2, 1942 to the late Carl and Gertrude “Drake” Lutz of Taylorsville, Ky. He retired from General Electric after 25 years of service where he operated a printing press until his medical retirement. In his younger years he loved fishing, hunting and being in nature. He kept a garden every summer and was also an avid reader and student of history.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Carol “Susie” Lutz, brother-in-law, John Ireson and his brother, Ronald Lutz.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Stacy Elliott (Pat) and Daniel Lutz; grandchildren, Michael, Rachael, Emily, Jessica; sister, Carol Ireson; as well as extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home- Mt. Washington (123 Winning Colors Dr.). with burial in Big Spring Cemetery in Bloomfield, Ky. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 3 pm until 8 pm. and Saturday 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Expression of sympathy may be
