David Henry "Syd" Sydnor

Mr. David H. "Syd" Sydnor, age 78, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Mr. Sydnor was born in Metcalf Co., KY on September 2, 1937 to the late Chester and Maggie Sydnor, he retired from Philip Morris U.S.A. in 1991 after 34 years of service, he was Protestant by faith and he enjoyed Bluegrass music, yard sales and flea markets.

Among those who preceded him in death include, his wife, Verlene Dickson "Ray" Sydnor; brother, Dalton Sydnor; sisters, Dorothy Throwbridge and Mary Ogden; half- brother, Otis Sydnor and half- sister, Emma Rolston.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Sheila Perkins (John); sons, Gary Sydnor (Kristin) and Darryl Sydnor (Lanette); grandson, John William Perkins; great granddaughter, Gabrielle Perkins; step- granddaughter, Christie Anderson; step-great grandson, Landon Anderson; brother, Donald Sydnor (Sue); sister, Frances Wilcoxson and a host of other family and friends.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Preston Hwy. Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at Noon on Thursday, December 10, 2015 in the funeral home chapel. Graveside service and burial of Mr. Sydnor and his wife, Verlene Sydnor, will follow the funeral service in Brookland Cemetery.
