Mr. Dennis Howard Brown, age 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Dennis was born on January 29, 1944, in Hartford Connecticut, to the late William Howard Brown and Elsie (Brace) Brown. He retired after 40 plus years as the Vice President of Gateway Press, Inc. where he started working right out of High School. Dennis loved fishing, golfing, and being a Diehard University of Kentucky fan. But, more than anything, he treasured his family, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Their visits, conversations, and shared moments brought him immense joy, and being their grandfather was one of the greatest blessings of his life. Dennis will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlotte Brown, and sister Virginia Prather.
Dennis leaves to cherish his memories his son Jeffery Brown (Theresa), daughter Andrea Bard (Craig), grandchildren Dr. Kelsey McCallister (Stephen), Meagan Alvey (Zack), T.J. Brown, great-grandchildren Kayden Alvey, Kolton Alvey, Graeme McCallister, Ian McCallister, Eames McCallister, along with a host of other dear family and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway). The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. also on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
