Donald Preston Bertram

Mr. Donald Preston Bertram, age 83, of Louisville went home to his Heavenly Father on October 21, 2023. Don was born on October 30, 1939, in Albany, KY to the late Herbert Reed and Inez Bertram. He retired from Louisville Gas and Electric after 30+ years with the company. He attended Cloverleaf Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Don’s favorite pastimes were family get togethers, trips in the country on the back roads, woodworking, and farming with his John Deere tractor. Those that knew Don best will remember how faithfully he took care of his wife, Janice Bertram, during her long-term battle with Alzheimer’s.  Along with his parents and wife, others that preceded him in death are siblings, Herbert Bertram, Jr and Jan Faith. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Delonda Hynes (Mike) and Don Bertram, Jr (Melissa); grandchildren Chance Hynes (Mallory), Brenden Bertram, and Eaden Bertram; brother, Gary Bertram (Sue); nephews and nieces, Adam Bertram, Charlotte Tuck and Mary Grace Tuck.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 3-8 p.m. and Saturday from 12 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Family video on subfuneralhome.com.
