Doriscella Cox age 91, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was born on Sunday, November 4, 1934, in Brooks, Kentucky to the late Howard and Esther (Mann) Myers. She lived a life marked by steady devotion, quiet strength, and thoughtful care that showed itself in the everyday ways she served others.
A Christian by faith, Doriscella was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She valued fellowship and friendship, and she especially enjoyed her monthly breakfast dates with her friends - simple moments that spoke to the steady warmth of her presence and her appreciation for shared time.
Doriscella retired from the Bullitt County Public Schools, where she worked as a bus driver. She took genuine pride in her work and was widely known for having the cleanest, best kept bus—an enduring reflection of her diligence, high standards, and the respect she carried for the children and families she transported.
Her family holds many stories of her love for cooking and the way she welcomed others in the morning for breakfast with all the fixings. In those familiar routines—coffee poured, plates filled, and conversation offered—Doriscella’s care and generosity were felt most clearly.
Doriscella was meticulous in the care of her own car and her school bus, attentive to details and faithful in the habits that kept things in good order. She also loved to take drives, to shop, and was known as a fashionista, carrying herself with a polished sense of style that added brightness to ordinary days.
