Dorothy Aliene Simmons

Mrs. Dorothy Aliene (Highbaugh) Simmons, age 83, of Bardstown, formerly of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on April 24, 2021. Mrs. Simmons was born on August 26, 1937 in Louisville, KY to the late Harold Rue and Catherine Irene (Robinson) Highbaugh. Mrs. Simmons worked as a florist. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents, daughter, Valerie Miller; son, Richard Paul Simmons; and sisters, Opal Mae Simpson and Ruby JoAnn Wright.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 35 years, Paul Simmons; children, Mike Miller (Linda), Teresa McEwen (Doug), Jacki Curtsinger (Billy), Shirley Wilson, Joe Simmons (Annette) and Honey Blatz; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Powell (Thomas); and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, April 29, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home-Mt. Washington (Hwy. 44 at 123 Winning Colors Drive) with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
