Mr. Dwayne Christopher Stewart Sr., age 62, of Hillview, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 30, 2025. Mr. Stewart was born in Louisville, KY on December 21, 1962 to the late Elsie Bell Patton Stewart and Charles Clinton Stewart. He worked hard as an independent contractor in construction and beloved fiancé, father, papaw, brother and uncle.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Diane Erica Stewart; his sister, Juanita Grace Stewart and his brother, David Clinton Stewart preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his fiancé, Robin Coy; son, Dwayne “DJ” C. Stewart Jr.; grandchildren, Audrey and Harper; stepsons, Richard Coy and Scott Coy; siblings, Elsie Charlene Bass, Charles Thomas Stewart (Paula), Cheryl Lynn Stewart (Bo), Richard Stephen Stewart (Lisa), Shelly Stewart Wilson (Greg), Sherry Angell (Joe Pat) and Dwight Christian Stewart (Nancy); a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
