Edward Thomas (Tom) Meredith, Jr.

Mr. Edward Thomas (Tom) Meredith, Jr. age 82, of Louisville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, February 3, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 6, 1940, to the late Edward Thomas Meredith Sr. and Dorothy (Weaver) Meredith. Tom worked for over 20 years at Dairyman Incorporated as a Lab Tech, he was a member of Harrison Lane Baptist Church, and a United States Marine. Tom also enjoyed the time he and his wife Elva spent as foster parents. He enjoyed going to Florida and spending time on the beaches, liked Disney World, fishing, bowling, and he like anything that had to do with Dove’s, or his fur babies Baby Dog, and Pepper, but most important to him was his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He would often pray and share with others how good God was to him and the importance of maintaining a relationship with Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Kimberly Ann Meredith.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 59 years, Elva Meredith; his daughter Michele Hardin (Farrell), his two brothers Albert Meredith, and Billy Ray Meredith (Sylvia), two sisters Joyce Meredith, and Gay Korten, and a grandson Isaiah Hulse. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 10:00 a. m. (Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home). Visitation will be Monday, from 2pm until 8pm, and again Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, (4895 N. Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, KY), with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hosparus Health of Louisville for the wonderful care you gave to Mr. Meredith, especially C.N.A. Lema and Donna his registered nurse.
