Mr. Russ was born September 5, 1956 in Louisville. He had a great passion for Barrel Racing Quarter Horses and was named World Champion many years ago. He was Past President of the Bluegrass Saddle Club and was a member of numerous other Quarter Horse clubs and associations.
Among those who preceded him in death include his father, Leonard Russ and brothers, Larry and Jimmy Russ.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Emalee Miles (Mike) and Justin Russ); grandchildren, Haylee and Gracee Miles; mother, Ruth Russ; sisters, Doris Keith (Joe), Carolyne Heffner, Judy Heavrin (Larry) and Barbara Russ; former wife, Jeannie Allen Russ and a host of other family and friends.
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Hwy 44 East at 123 Winning Colors Dr.) Mt. Washington is in charge of the arrangements.
