Georgia Marie Jones

Mrs. Georgia Marie (Wilson) Jones, age 76, of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on September 16, 2021. She was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and was a retired elementary school teacher, mainly educating the students at Brooks Elementary. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Earl Wilson and Mary Mullins Wilson, and husband, Bill Jones. Mrs. Jones leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Karen Michele Jones; sisters, Sandra Sumpter (Larry) and Deborah Darlene Waters; and nieces and nephews, Melisa Waddell, Shannon Waters, Bryan Waddell, and Kelsey Golden.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Brooks Rd at Preston Hwy) with inurnment at Brookland Cemetery at a later date.  Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nature Conservancy or World Wildlife Fund, in Mrs. Jones’s memory.
