Goldie Marie Kustes

Mrs. Goldie M. Kustes, age 85, of Brooks, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026. She was born in Taylorsville, Kentucky to the late Marvin Montgomery and Lily Bradford. Mrs. Kustes worked as the dietary manager for many years at Britthaven until her retirement. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Cedar Creek Branch. Mrs. Kustes is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Freddie Kustes; children, Dana Kustes and Charles Kustes; grandchildren, Dana Kustes, Tasha Goldsmith and Kobe Steff; great grandchildren, Layne Clements and Dylan Kustes; and sister, Edna Burgin; son-in-law, Gary Cowgell.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Allen Kustes (Diane), Victor Kustes, Frances Kustes, Laura Kustes; grandchildren, Shelley Clements, Leea Kustes, Cameron Kustes, Brittney Kustes, Tyler Cowgell, Cali Steff, Kaden Steff, Kassi Wood, Leslee Wood, and Raymond Calhoun; great grandchildren, Levi, Haylie, Delilah, Tristan, Raylee, Rivers, A’Laya, Brody, Grayson, Genesis, and Giovanni; great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Princeton, and Joshua; and sister, Judy Cecil.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with internment at Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 1:00pm until 8:00 pm and again on Monday from 12:00pm until the time of service.
