

Mr. Guy “Sonny” Walter Freeman Jr, age 79, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 11, 1944, to the late Guy Walter Freeman Sr., and Norma Keidel. Sonny worked for 35 years for Louisville Gas & Electric, as a machinist, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was known to be a kind and gentle man. Sonny adored his grandchildren and enjoyed every minute he spent coaching football, basketball, and baseball. He also enjoyed bowling, golf, sports of all kinds, loved the University of Kentucky, and a diehard Dale Earnhart fan. He also enjoyed visiting the beaches in Florida, but most of all he loved being a husband to his late wife Carolyn for 57 years, a devoted father, grandpa, and papaw and brother. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Wayne and Bertha Skaggs, and brother Len Keidel.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Guy Freeman lll “Chip” (Cerrisa), daughter Nicole Sievert (Tim), grandchildren Dillon, Alex, Trevor, Darian, a sister Judith Freeman, a brother Richard Keidel along with a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 12p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway), with burial to follow at Hebron Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday April 17, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday April 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Alzheimer’s, and Breast Cancer Society.
