Gwendolyn Sue Sweeney

Gwendolyn “Sue” Sweeney, age 85, of Highview, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 12, 2026. She was born on July 1, 1940, in Greensburg, Kentucky to the late Colby and Mable Omega (McAllister) Judd. Sue enjoyed playing the piano and golfing with her late husband, sons and friends. She enjoyed being at the lake, boating and fishing. Her free time found her lying in the sun enjoying her pool, and wood painting and ceramics. She loved being in Florida and having a good time with family and friends. Sue was quite a cook, and her family fondly remembers her chocolate pies, potato salad and dumplings. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Sweeney; children, Kevin Sweeney and Corky Duvall; sister-in-law, Mary Vivian Judd, and her fur-baby, Missy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tommy Duvall (Karen), Kim Sweeney (Jimmy) and Steve Duvall (Michelle); daughter-in-law, Kathy Duvall; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn, Alisha Sternberg (Tony), Chris Duvall (Alyssa), Ren’e Fulton (Jeremy), Travis Buley, Andrea Morales, Brandon Duvall, Morgan Duvall, and Makayla Towles; 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, David Judd; sister-in-law, Maureen Smith along with a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 10:00 am until the time of funeral at the funeral home.
