Mr. Harold Edwin Smith, Jr., age 55, of Fairdale returned to his Heavenly Father on February 14, 2026. Mr. Smith was born on July 1, 1970, in Louisville, KY to Harold, Sr. and Marilyn (Jenkins) Smith. He was the owner of Harold Smith and Sons Excavating and a proud member of Fairdale United Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Smith, Sr.
He left to cherish his memory by a loving family a daughter, Lauren Guivas (Austin) and a son, Austin Young; his mother, Marilyn Smith ;sister, Debbie Randall (Barry); brother, Randall Smith (Donna) and Steven Smith: wife Anna Bannon: and a host of nieces and nephews he loved dearly, along with his trusty companions, Peko, Lady and Mila; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Fairdale United Baptist Church (10098 W. Manslick Rd. Fairdale, KY 40118) with interment in Morgan-Smoot Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 2-8 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Rd.)
