

Mr. “Bud” White, (Harris G. Jr.), age 81, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 26, 2018. Mr. White was born in Louisville Kentucky on July 4, 1936. Mr. White was a graduate of Saint Xavier High School, Florida Junior College and McKendree College. He was a retired Senior Chief Yeoman from the U.S. Navy after 25 years, where he spent most of his time on submarines. During his civilian career, he worked as a fuel manager at Kentucky Solite, where he also achieved a second retirement. He was a proud Kentucky Colonel and Life Member and Past Commander of the Bullitt County Memorial VFW Post 5710. He was also a Past 6th District Commander of the Department of Kentucky VFW, Past President and Board Member Emeritus of the Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. White was also a Past President and Life Member of the Bullitt County Shrine Club, a member of the Bullitt Masonic Lodge 155, the Louisville Scottish Rite, the Kosair Temple and the American Legion Post 157. He was a very active member of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Bullitt Co. and one of his favorite things was to “Make a Child Smile”.
Among those preceding him in death include his loving wife of 46 years, Annette “Sarge” White; his son, William Monroe “Scott” White; his parents, Harris G. White Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Munro) White Dickerson; and his brother, William Brooks “Bill” White.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Debbi Lanham (Billy), Gregory R. White (Anne), and Jeffrey G. White; grandchildren, Joe Lanham, Corey Lanham (Missy), and Lindsey Lanham, and 7 additional grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and 1 more on the way; his special friend, Ruby Cook; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.), with burial to follow in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday and from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
