Mrs. Hilda June Adams, age 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 12, 2026, with her family by her side. Hilda was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, on November 2, 1940, to the late Arlie Sexton and Esma (Adams) Sexton. Hilda was a devoted and loving wife, mom, grandma, and sister.
For over 50 years, Hilda was a faithful and dedicated member of Hebron Presbyterian Church, where her love for the Lord and her commitment to her church family were evident in all she did. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, providing strength, comfort, and hope to those around her. She was more than a church member; she was a beloved part of a church family that she treasured deeply.
Above all, Hilda cherished her family. Her husband, her children and their families were her greatest blessing and the center of her life. Through a warm hug, a listening ear, words of encouragement, or simply being there when she was needed most, she made them feel loved and cared for. The memories she created over the years will remain treasured gifts, carrying family traditions forward for generations.
Her presence extended far beyond the walls of her home and church. Throughout the community, Hilda was known for her generous heart, gentle spirit, welcoming smile, and genuine concern for others. She had a unique way of making people feel important and loved, and her kindness touched lives in both great and small ways. She was the kind of person whose attendance had an influence, whose friendship was a blessing, and whose absence will be felt by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband James E. Adams Sr., four brothers Ervie, Dave, Ray and Hennie Sexton and four sisters Emily Schmidt, Audrey Prince, and Shirley Sizemore.
Hilda leaves to cherish her memories her 2 sons, James E. Adams Jr., (Sherri) and Stephen R. Adams (Terri), 2 grandchildren Rachel Coleman (Chase), Carter Adams, 1 great-grandson Christopher Ryle Coleman, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear family and friends.
