Jimmy was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on April 17, 1951, to the late Elmer “Pete” Allgeier and Mary Clay Allgeier. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan and especially enjoyed spending time on the water, making memories whenever he had the opportunity to be out on his boat.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his siblings, David Allgeier, Cheryl Allgeier Thomas, Patty Breckel, and Barbara “Bobbi” Kmecak; and his brother-in-law, Louie Breckel.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, David Pete Allgeier, Benjamin Michael Allgeier (Christiana), and Nicholas James Allgeier (Ashley); his grandchildren, Savviana, Elliana, and Demitris; his dear friend, Sharon Bishop; brothers-in-law, Jack Thomas and Ron Kmecak; and a host of loving family members and dear friends.
Jimmy’s Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, KY 40165.
