Mr. James “Jim” R. Morris, age 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 11, 2026. He was born to the late William and Sarah Alma Morris in Oldham County, Kentucky on July 22, 1946. Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.
Mr. Morris was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying going on trips with his buddies. He loved watching men’s basketball and football where he was a huge U of K fan. Despite his love of fishing and sports, Mr. Morris cherished family above all, especially his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 60 years, Ruby Morris; children, Chris Morris (Connie), Sherry Broughton (Paul); grandchildren, Charley Broughton, Amy Morris, Jonathan Broughton; siblings, Frances Dillon, Kenneth Morris, Helen Calvert, and Curtis Morris; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
