James Edward Messer

Mr. James Edward Messer, age 68, of Fairdale returned to his Heavenly Father on October 14, 2018. Mr. Messer was born May 3, 1950 in Louisville, KY to the late Perry and Mary Miles Messer. Mr. Messer was a laborer for Nelson-Boone Company. He loved to hunt and fish. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents; and brother, Billy Messer. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 37 years, Teresa Haggard Messer; children, Tammy Strickland (Melvin), Tracie Messer (Ryan) and James Scott Messer (Kristy); grandchildren, Melissa, Austin, Curtis, Ayden and Devyn; great-grandchildren, Landyn and Alexis; brothers, Larry Messer, Ronnie Messer (Penny) “his best friend” and Steve Messer (Kathy); sisters, Louise Yates (David), Annette Krueger and Nancy Wilbur (Danny); and a host of family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 12-8 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Expressions of sympathy may be made to the funeral home. Family video on www.subfuneralhome.com
