Mr. Jerald "Jerry" O. Woodrum, born in Liberty, Kentucky on February 16, 1945, to Louie and Virginia Woodrum, passed on September 15, 2026. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, sister, Wanda Tincher, Pauline Marple; and his much-loved pups, Radar, Sassy, Trapper and Snuffy.
Jerry served in the United States Army from 1965 until 1967. He retired in 2002 from L, G&E after working for 31 years. After a short retirement, he decided to continue working until 2024. However, Jerry's passion was his love for music. He received great enjoyment playing with his bands and seeing people also enjoy the music. He played around Louisville and the surrounding areas for over 50 years. After his music, he enjoyed fishing, camping, playing pool and going to bluegrass festivals with his friends. He also loved woodworking and watching UK Basketball.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sherry Woodrum; his loved pup, Maggie; brother, Roger Woodrum; children, Todd Woodrum, Tonya Hadley (Troy); Micheal McKay (Julie), his 7 grandchildren, Mackenzie Warriner, Hannah (BooBoo) McKay, Camryn Woodrum, Owen Woodrum, Turner Werkmeister, Mia Werkmeister, Harley McKay; 1 great grandchild, Josie Warriner, 2 more on the way; and his loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd). Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 11:30am until the time of service.
