Jerry "Chicken Hawk" Russell Gaddis

Mr. Jerry Russell Gaddis, age 80, of Hillview returned to his Heavenly Father on January 20, 2024. Mr. Gaddis was born on February 13, 1943, In Louisville, KY to the late Herbert Gaddis, Sr, and Mattie Marie (Baldwin) Gaddis. Mr. Gaddis retired from Phillip Morris. He loved family vacations at St. Pete Beach, playing pool, and watching U of L sports. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, stepmother, Pauline Gaddis; daughter, Tracy Ferguson; sisters, Betty Cornelius and Geneva Hagadorn; and brother, Herbert Gaddis, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years, Judith (Hines) Gaddis; children, Cynthia McCawley (Albert), Nancy Lands (Arthur), and Robert Gaddis (Paula); 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Clark and Patsy Schroeder; and he was the favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Robert Joseph Ferguson and Jerry Wayne Ferguson for taking care of their grandpa.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 1-8 pm and on Friday from 9 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. www.subfuneralhome.com
