Mr. Joel Martin Shockley, age 59, of Hillview, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Marty was born in Scottsville, KY on February 14, 1966 to the late Thomas Lee Shockley and Permelia Hendrix Shockley. Marty was a skilled land surveyor, loved playing pool and he was an avid Kentucky fan. He is a cherished father, brother, uncle and friend.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Michael Robin Shockley preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Samantha Grace Shockley; siblings, Teresa Ann Luce, Sharline Vaughan, Jason Shockley and Nathan Shockley; his beloved cats, Natasha and Lil’ Bit and a host of other dear family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Hebron Presbyterian Church in Shepherdsville, KY with a meal to follow in the church activity center.
Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) is handling arrangements.
