

Mr. John “Doc” Milford Loudermilk, I, age 72, of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Mr. Loudermilk was born in Williamsburg, KY on March 24, 1948 to the late Luther and Jean (Nunley) Loudermilk. Doc Loudermilk was a U.S. Navy veteran and was rewarded the bronze star with a “V” for Valor in 2016 for heroic acts by Doc Loudermilk during his time serving with the Marines in the Vietnam War. His military service also includes time spent in the Army National Guard and Air National Guard. He was a postal clerk with the USPS and retired with disability from the military. He was the author of the book entitled, Battlefield Faith, which he wrote to reach his fellow veterans. He was a member of the Marine Corps League 729. He faithfully served, along with his wife, the Silver Saints ministry at the Radiant Life Church of God where he was a member. He was a minister of the gospel. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents; sisters, Brenda Sue Loudermilk, Opal Cox, Odie Loudermilk and brothers, Virgil Loudermilk, Joe Loudermilk, and Ray Laudermilk.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 51 years, Sennis “Sandy” (Cook) Loudermilk; his daughter, Stefanie Loudermilk; his son, John (Michelle) Loudermilk, II; grandchildren, Jonathan (Gey) Loudermilk, Grace Loudermilk (D.J. Humphrey), Steven Loudermilk (Jan Childers), Jared (Aly) Loudermilk, Jenna and Justin Loudermilk; great-grandson, Grayson Loudermilk; and siblings, Robert (Wanda) Loudermilk and Don (Tina) Loudermilk and Ruth Emory. Mr. Loudermilk will also be forever remembered by his aunts Peggy (Mick) Whitesell, Edna (Darrell) Hart; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and dear friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
