John David Gilbert

Mr. John “David” Gilbert, age 59, of Elizabethtown KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 22, 2021. David was born in Louisville, KY on April 16, 1962, to John Raymond Gilbert and Delora “Parks” Gilbert. David enjoyed motorcycle’s, building and flying remote control airplanes, he enjoyed wood working and crafts, but most of all he loved his family.

Among those who preceded him in death are, his nephew Brian Mitchell Luckett; grandparents, James and Myrtle Parks; and Huey and Dora Gilbert.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, wife, Susan Gilbert; daughter Kayla Gilbert; 3 sisters Regina Penick (Paul) Alice Gilbert, and Belinda Bostic (Darryl); 1 brother Tim Gilbert (Brenda); and a nephew Keith Gilbert (Kristy). Along with a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021, 2:00pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00am until 2:00pm on August 25, 2021, in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home. With burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
