Mr. Joseph “Joe” Montgomery, age 81, of Okolona, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. He was born on December 9, 1944 to the late John C and Helen E Montgomery in Louisville, Kentucky.
Joe was a member of the Louisville Street Rods since 1977, as well as St. Rita Catholic Church. He loved his wife dearly and the memories they shared always made him smile. Joe never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. Cherishing family and friends was what he valued most. Joe was an avid U of K fan always watching whichever sport they were playing that day. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Michele Montgomery; children, Lynn Ashby, Joseph Montgomery (Martha); grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary (Reina), Carlos, Sarah, and Emma; siblings, Jay, Marilyn, Gary and Kevin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd). Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Rita Catholic Church General Fund in his honor.
