Karen Lee Lucas

A Christian by faith, Karen carried herself with a gentle steadiness that brought comfort to others. Soft-spoken and quiet, she possessed a rare warmth that did not seek attention yet was always felt. Beneath her calm presence was an unmistakable and extremely funny spirit.

Karen’s heart was drawn to the lightness of summer and the peace found near the water—whether at the beach, the lake, or beside a pool. She was, in her own way, a dreamer who always chose hope, meeting life with a sense of possibility and a quiet strength. Music also held a special place in her life, and she found joy in concerts and the moments of connection and memory they created.

Karen Lee Lucas leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and gentle humor—one that will be carried forward with gratitude and love. She is survived by her sister, Deborah Lucas; her loving companion, Stacy Riggs, along with a host of dear family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, June and Bill Filby, her father, Clarence Lucas, her brothers, Randall and Richard Lucas, and a brother-in-law, Lee McDonald.

The family has chosen cremation with a private Celebration of Life that will take place later date.
