Karen Ann Southard

Mrs. Karen Ann Southard, age 62, of Louisville, Kentucky passed peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024, with her family by her side. Karen was born on February 10, 1962, in Grayson County, Kentucky to the late Charles Reinhart Keown and Judith Rae (Pence) Keown. Karen was a package handler for UPS, she was funny, loud, sometimes sarcastic, and vivacious. She enjoyed music, watching Hallmark movies, the Golden Girls, and Mike & Molly. She was a loving wife, mother, and granny and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband James Dale Southard, Sr., and her sister Theresa Keown.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children three sons Michael Southard (Ariana), James Dale Southard Jr., (Brittany), Matthew Southard, seven grandchildren Jade, Shaun, Sierra, Ashtin, Aidan, Alexis, Kayla, two sisters Donna Kelly (Randy), Melissa Waltrip (Donald), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.  Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday January 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
