Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Holder, age 78, of Shepherdsville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, September 28, 2018. Mr. Holder was born on December 29, 1939 in Cloverport, KY. He traveled around the world three times while serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Glacier. Mr. Holder retired from Sears as an appliance technician and he spent the rest of his days working on his farm tending his cattle.
Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, Jack and Lucille Medley.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Iris Holder; children, Renee Metcalf (Marty) and Todd Holder (Cheryl); grandchildren of “Moo Cow Papaw,” Derek Rigney (Courtney), Erica Rigney, Brandon Holder, Brooke and Mason Vincent, Megan and Dawson Holder; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Dallas, Carly, Taran and Nolan; brother-in-law, Carl Carlson (Sally) and beloved dog, Little Bear.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Monday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
