Mr. Lawrence C. Gillenwater, age 82, of Buechel, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, August 15, 2016. Mr. Gillenwater was a retired salesman for Sears and a member of Church of God of Prophecy. He was an ordained minister and pastored all over central Kentucky. He loved farming, animals and was a huge Kentucky fan!
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Clarence and Edna Gillenwater and brother Kenneth Gillenwater.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Shirley Dalton Gillenwater; son Larry Gillenwater(Sonya); brother, Wayne Gillenwater (Pattie).
Funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd). with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Friends may pay their respects on Friday 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
