Letha Janet Baron, age 93, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, with loving family by her side. She was born on March 25, 1933, in Cowden, Illinois to the late Harlan and Nettie (Williams) Brown. Letha was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was the previous owner of Flowers by Janet in New Albany, Indiana where she and her husband supplied the very best in flowers and photography to their community. Letha never met a stranger; everyone she met became a friend. She enjoyed life on the farm, especially gardening and taking care of the many animals she had. Hosting fancy meals for her family was something she enjoyed, making sure the table was set with good china and fancy dishes. Her cooking skills were second to none and her family will fondly remember her chili and her lasagna. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren is what Letha held most dear to her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Bond and Donald Baron and her brothers, Joe Brown and Roger Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mike Bond (Donna) and Paul Bond, grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristi), Catherine (A.J.), Anne Marie (Chris) and Israel; great-grandchildren, Jacob (Lauren), Katelyn (Blake), Julia, Jasmin, Ashton, Lexy and Jackson; great-great-grandchildren, Finley and one precious great-great-grandchild on the way; her sister, Ann Sarver (Terry) and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. The family will honor Letha’s wishes of no visitation prior to the funeral service.
