Mrs. Linda Gayle Mattingly

Mrs. Linda Gayle Mattingly, age 80, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, with her family by her side. Linda was born in Burkesville, Kentucky, to the late James Carl Watkins and Martha Maxine (Spears) Watkins. She retired from UPS after 8 years of service. Linda was a member of Providence Baptist Church for over 40 plus years, a member of the Eastern Star (Star of Hope #183), she loved to sing in her church choir, go shopping and give to others, working in her flower beds she loved roses, however most of all she loved being a wife, momma, sister, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Danny Watkins, Elizabeth Tweedy, LaVonne Watkins.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of 58 years, Paul Mattingly, son Randy Mattingly (Robin), sisters Carolyn Meadows, and Lisa Harris, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway, 40165). A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in the chapel of the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. There will be visitation that Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
