Mrs. Lois Irene Hammond, of Brooks, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Mrs. Hammond was born in Louisville, KY on May 21, 1940 to the late Jesse Rigdon and Eunice Rigdon Sowders. She was a member of Key’s Ferry Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her loving husband, Harold N. Hammond and siblings preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Missy Dickson (Wayne) and Harold “Buster” Hammond (Tina); grandchildren, Marissa Hammond and Mariah Hammond; her beloved dog, Jack and a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 on Monday, August 28, 2023 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:30 at the funeral home.
