Loretta Jane Hughes Napper

Mrs. Loretta Jane Hughes Napper, age 82, of Fairdale returned to her Heavenly Father on June 24, 2017. Mrs. Napper retired from Jefferson County Public Schools as a custodian and was a Baptist by faith. Among those that preceded her in death include her parents, George Hughes and Maude Payne Hughes-Lax; husband, Alvin Napper, Sr.; siblings, Ruth Hughes, Clarence Hughes, Bentsy Workman, Betty Schafer, Billie Wilson and Les Lax; and great-grandsons, Kyle and Zachary Napper. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Alvin "P-Nut" Napper, Jr., Jane Mattingly, David Napper (Beverly), Sarah Masterson, Regina Kerns and Lee Ann Mathis (Kevin); 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul Hughes (Becky), Raymond Lax, Joanne Rutter (Norman), John Lax (Theresa), Larry Lax (Marcie) and Ralph Lax.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Pennsylvania Run Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 1-8 pm, Wednesday from 10 am until 8 pm, and Thursday from 12 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
