

Louis Carsdale “Louie” Tatum, age 72, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with loving family by his side. He was born on August 10, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Thomas and Ethel (Rawlings) Tatum. Louie was a retired Police Officer, serving 20 faithful years with City of Louisville Police Department. He was a caregiver, always helping and taking care of his family. He enjoyed canoeing, spending time outdoors and sports. Louie was a fan of UofK basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. His sense of humor and compassion will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Tatum.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 40 years, Sondra (Tedrow) Tatum; son, Bradley Tatum (Tanya); daughter, Jennifer Fields (Charlie); grandchildren, Shawna Delk and Alex Nalley (Jadyn); great-grandchildren, Alaina Vivian, Kyson Vivian and Scarlett Nalley; siblings, Michael Tatum (Lynne), Pam Toepfer (Bob), Mary Jane Miles (Billy), Stephen Tatum (Lisa) and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
