Lyndon Murl Carlton age 89 of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. He was born in Albany, Kentucky on Tuesday, September 1, 1936, to the late Willie and Maudell Carlton.
Murl was a devoted Christian attending church regularly. He loved to be outdoors tending to his home and property. He also had a kind heart and enjoyed helping others when in need. His favorite joy was being a Grandpa to Carter and Spencer who were his world. Murl will be greatly missed by all those that he leaves behind.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Vita Kay Carlton, his son Lyndon Wade Carlton, and sister Zenova Carlton.
He leaves behind with wonderful memories to share with each other, his daughter, Lisa Kay Campbell (Jay); his grandsons, Carter Isaac Campbell (Kaitlin), Spencer James Campbell; his sisters, Glema Davis (Bill), Phala Logston, Jean Sprivey; a brother, Wayne Carlton (Judy).
Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy). Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 3 pm to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 10 am till time of service at 12 noon.
