Mae Catherine Crawford

Mae Catherine Crawford, age 100, of Fairdale, Ky passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 30, 1924, to the late James Virgil Horine and Nellie Irene (Broeg) Horine. Catherine was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother, and Grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, taking trips yearly with her family to places like Florida, the Smokey Mountains, and Virginia. It’s been said that when you came to visit, she always made sure you didn’t leave hungry. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, and late husband of 45 years Charles Matthew Crawford,1 son Charles Allen Crawford, 1 grandson Thomas Edward Lietz III.

She is survived by her 4 daughters Margaret Tindle, (William), Linda Tindle, (Steve), Barbara Tindle (Raymond), Doris Logsdon (Steve), 1 son James Ray Crawford, 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-grandchildren, 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren 1 sister Helen Able of Virginia. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). The visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of her service at 10:00 am at the funeral home. With burial to follow at Ferguson Cemetery.
