Ms. Marilyn Charlene Corley, age 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Marilyn was born in Bardstown, Kentucky, to the late Johnny Payton and Beulah “Tingle” Payton, on March 27, 1950. Marilyn was a loving and caring mom, Nana, and sister. She retired from Walmart Super Centers after many years of service. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, decorating her home, puzzles, and spending time with her children, grand and great- grandchildren. Marilyn also enjoyed music and dancing. She loved her lifelong community of neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Donald, Joe, J.W., Allen Douglas, and Roger Payton.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memories her three daughters Jill Turner (Randy), Jennifer Houston, Amy Elms (Donald), six grandchildren, Christopher Houston, Lacey Houston, Tyler Elms (Heather), Lauren Turner, Kenneth Turner (Aryan), and Jenna Turner, 2 great-grandchildren Bryson Barr, and Graham Turner, sister Norma Ryan (Buddy), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper, 40165). The Funeral Service will take place Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
