Marvin E. Allen

Mr. Marvin E. Allen, age 90, of Louisville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Mr. Allen was born in Waynesburg, KY on January 4, 1935 to the late Nila Jackson Allen and Cecil Allen.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a dedicated civil servant retiring from the Department of Defense as a computer analyst after over 30 years of hard work.  

He was a faithful member of Parkland Baptist Church and built his life around it. He was also a member of the American Legion. Mr. Allen honored the values of service, family, community and faith.

In addition to his parents, his daughter, Linda Allen Gibson; his son, Mark Allen and brothers, Cecil Allen Sr., Jesse Allen and Danny Allen preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Jane E. Allen; son, Scott Allen (Robin); daughter, Carla Redmon (Perry); son-in-law, Howard Gibson; daughter-in-law, Donita Allen; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Parkland Baptist Church (7206 Shepherdsville Rd., Louisville, KY 40219) with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at Parkland Baptist Church.
