Mrs. Mary Evelyn Conner, age 78, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Mrs. Conner was born in Louisville, KY on December 24, 1947 to the late Mary Elizabeth Seay and William Gilmore Seay. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow “Bubby” Earl Conner; her adoptive mother, Evelyn Brunner Blais and brothers, Leroy Brunner, Johnny Seay, Junior Seay and Robert Brunner.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Woodrow E. Conner, Jr. (Penny) and Angela Phelps (Virgil); grandchildren, Spencer Conner (Kaitlyn), Zachary Phelps and Olivia Phelps; great-grandson, Jack Phelps; brothers, Fred Brunner, James Brunner and Denny Brunner and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 4, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Miller- Watkins Cemetery (Beech Grove Rd., Lebanon Junction, KY).
